Another fantastic day out with the Luke crew at Edgbaston on Friday 12th, the boys turned out in numbers to join the barmy army in the Eric Hollis Stand once again. Our thanks to Deb for organising the Luke Brollies, which were only needed a couple of times and did their job with a mention on test match special, we followed this by getting on FLY Sports on various times during the day, mostly for steward abuse, the likeable David Badeel steward lookalike was good fun but his partner in crime and nemesis who shared his seat DR Doom continued to nick our beach balls all day. Play was very slow to say the least but banter was fast and furious as always, as Alistair Cook ground out a magnificent 294. I think the game was over as a contest by tea and the team followed up this magnificent innings and 240 run win by going top in the world rankings. Big thanks to Nick(Nittin) Madog Madlani Our token Indian supporter and part time accountant and Art Malik impersonator, Matty R, H, Big Dave(stew),Crouchie, Stevie T, Bri, Dales, Villa Staffs, Connor he of the big chest!! And Simon MD “wearing shades in the rain” also shout to Wayno and the Northern boys, on the Pimms for three days, they nearly drowned!! But never got drunk!! Great time to visit our manor when the riots were on, but you know the northern boys they still managed to have a great time.
