LAND ROVER 4X4 IN SCHOOLS UK CHAMPIONS16th Apr
Luke is the Official Clothing Partner for Engineering in Motion, which seeks to excite, develop and challenge young minds. As well as educating, these competitions aims to inspire and change perceptions of science, technology and engineering.
The Land Rover 4x4 in Schools Technology Challenge was developed by Land Rover and is managed by Engineering in Motion, In the challenge, groups of students designed and built a remote controlled scale-model 4x4 all-terrain vehicle to negotiate challenging obstacles on a bespoke track. The teams present their work and knowledge of 4x4 vehicle designs to a panel of judges and had their remote control car put under intense scrutiny by vehicle design specialists, against a comprehensive set of rules and regulations.
The UK finals, held at Jaguar Land Rover’s Design and Engineering Centre in Gaydon were won by Clyst Valley School in Devon. The team of 14-16 year olds will now take their place in the inaugural 4X4 in Schools World Final later in the year .
We at Luke are honoured to be part of this fantastic project and proud to be supporting the future design talent this country has to offer.
