Luke X BrOTHERHOOD Collaboration31st Aug
Having been involved with the success of the first two films - Kidulthood and Adulthood - by dressing the key actors, it was fitting that we played a part in the final installment. As well as being a huge part of the film's costume and aesthetic, Luke has now collaborated with Elensa and Andy Blake, the Hood Trilogy's costume designer. This limited edition capsule collection has been created, featuring clothing inspired by the film - made for film fans and collectors alike.
The Elensa collaboration with avant-garde sculptor Chris Mitton honours and replicates his artwork 'Hoodie". As Chris puts it: "Subverting the heroic iconography of the classical carved marble bust, Hoodie creates an anti-hero by confronting the faceless stereotyping and politics of fear employed by government and media, rather than them addressing issues behind the social exclusion and desire for self-exemption from society."
The capsule collection features t-shirts, polos, sweats, hoodies and accessories, all finished with that familiar Luke twist. Black, grey and white trim tape runs throughout while making flash appearances under polo collars and sleeves. Raised rubber print, micro dot print and elevated embossing techniques give a real depth, while the 3D 'Hoodie' metal zip puller generated from original scans of the Chris Mitton sculpture really stand out. Branding techniques use chest embroidery, back neck film branding and 'Hoodie' and 'Faceless' quotes from Mitton across jackets and sweats.
With only a few pieces per style, this highly sought after collection won't be around forever. Make sure you pre-order and be part of the Brotherhood...
