TRIATHLETE JOE SKIPPER AT CHALLENGE ROTH5th Oct
Joe Skipper, British Ironman record holder, came 2nd in Roth Germany timing at 7:56:23.
Joe began a brilliant start to the swim, however soon followed some challenges after being dunked and held down in the water numerous times. However, this didn't stop the determined British athlete, overcoming the problem with a 52:36 finish time.
He then faced the bike race, starting off a little behind his targeted scheduled time. Joe knew he had to push himself, resulting in a finish time of 4:21:12.
Onto the run, with a number of difficulties in his way, dedicated Joe firmly fixed a goal of coming 2nd place, which is exactly what he did. Joe now the first ever British athlete to break 8 hours in an Ironman distance triathlon!
Joe said on his experience: "It was an amazing experience and to finish the race off with a 2hr 38 marathon was fantastic."
